Tariffs have significantly increased the cost of these essential components. In some cases, they have more than doubled.

Since 2016 we have worked diligently to mitigate the effects of tariffs internally, but to maintain the quality and integrity of our products that you rely on, price adjustments have become necessary.

The Art of Brine Shrimp Direct

Illustrations

Many of the illustrations of tropical fish that appear throughout this site (including the discus shown in the masthead above) are original works created by South African artist Sally MacLarty and commissioned by Brine Shrimp Direct. Ms. MacLarty has established a worldwide reputation in the field of natural history illustration. You can learn more about this outstanding artist at her Web site.

The illustrations of various fish spotlighted in the masthead area throughout most of the rest of this site are scanned from watercolors by renowned South American illustrator Yvonne Demonte, in particular her four-volume work, Peixes Fluviais do Brasil ("River Fish of Brazil").
